The Eye as a Portal to the Past

  • Location: Yerevan, Armenia
  • Year: 2025
Armenia commemorated the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on April 24, 2025 — a significant moment of national remembrance and unity. In collaboration with the team at the Armenian Genocide Museum, our studio introduced a profound new concept titled “The Eye – A Portal to the Past.”

This symbolic design is more than art. It reflects memory, truth, and the enduring call for justice. Honoring Armenian Genocide Victims Through Symbolic Design. The central element of our concept is the eye, chosen as a visual metaphor for historical memory and vigilance. It represents the eyewitnesses to the 1915 atrocities, the survivors who carried their stories forward, and the global community that continues to seek acknowledgment of the Armenian Genocide.

Why the Eye?
The eye is a universal symbol — a portal to history, emotion, and identity. In this context, it becomes a tool of remembrance and an act of resistance. Through its gaze, we are reminded of:

•Those who witnessed the Armenian Genocide.
•The voices that preserved the truth despite being silenced.
•The ongoing demand for historical justice and recognition.

“The Eye – A Portal to the Past”: Our Concept at the Armenian Genocide Museum․
In partnership with the Armenian Genocide Museum, our team developed this concept to provide a meaningful visual narrative. As part of the 110th anniversary commemoration, the installation serves as a powerful reminder of the past — and a commitment to never forget.
Through symbolic design, we aimed to:

Highlight the importance of remembrance and education. Encourage emotional engagement with history. Reinforce the Armenian people's strength and resilience․

This year’s remembrance carries special significance, a global message. As denial and distortion continue globally, installations like “The Eye” serve as a call to action — not just for Armenians, but for all who value human rights and historical truth. Our concept stands as a visual pledge that the legacy of the Armenian Genocide will live on. It promises future generations that the truth will never be erased.

We will always remember. We will always demand.
